great article. i walk to work and back every day, 40 minutes each way, so I walk for about 1hr 20 mins each day. it keeps in good shape and maintains my weight. its worth doing, especially if you have a desk job like me
I always wondered about this thanks ! I walk about an hour or soe every night.
im 14 and trying to get fit, i swim, bike and walk my dogs everyday and also do karate. but im not losing weight. why is that? What is your diet like? You need to be eating right, watch your carbs and sugar (sodium) intake. You should try to CUT OUT sodium by not eating anything in a box or frozen, you won't believe the results!!
Good article, but I could have done without the environmental preaching.
I think there is something wrong in this calculationsI walk 5 kilometers = 3.10685596 miles in 60 MinutsI have 98 kilograms = 216.053017 poundsSo 0.27x216.05x60 = 3 500.01 Caloriesand i think that i am not loosing mention calarie please improve your calculation. The first number in your calculation is incorrect - it should be 0.027, not 0.27.You have your decimal in the wrong placeEven when placing the decimal in the correct place the math is still incorrect
Weight loss is a combination of lean muscle tissue, cardiovascular exercise, nutrition, recover, and so much more. I get clients that tell me they walk all the time and are obese. It is not the answer
I think the above commentor has people lying to them. I am obese and have been walking on a regular basis for a month and have lost twelve pounds. I am also watching calories, but nothing super strict. walking rocks!Hooray for you Be proud of any loss !!! I am working out on a recumbent bike and treadmill every day and have not seen weight loss but think maybe inches lost I will keep working at it thru this term at school !! I am hoping to see results by the end of term. Walking does rock !!
Congratulations to all those who have lost weight, by doing any form of exercies!!! I have started to walk and have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks. Brought myself a tread mill, my food portions are smaller and it is doing the job.
Actually the example above is wrong. Multiplying 150 by 0.027 is "4.05", not 4.5.
im 14, and i walk my dog twice a day, so i walk 1hr and 20mins , i also play softball, i started walking bout 3 days ago and i alreadt lost 5 pounds, im thinking bout walking my dog 3 times a day.
